Always in motion is the future.

While Luke was training with Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back, he has a vision of Han and Leia.

He asks Yoda if Han and Leia will die. Yoda pauses, stretches out with the Force, and says to Luke, “Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.”

Luke decides he must leave Yoda and his training to help his friends even though Yoda warns him not to go.

Luke failed to realize what Yoda had said. The vision was of the future, BUT for us, the future is always in motion.

We, as people, are living in the moment. We have no control over the future. We can take steps to shape it, but there are too many things outside of our control to bring about precisely what we want.

We see this explained thousands of years ago in Proverbs 19:21, where we read, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”

We can plan for the future, but our plans will not come to pass if they are outside of God’s will as Proverbs 16:4 tells us, “The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.”

We do not know much about the future, but we know that Jesus will return (Acts 1:11).

We also know that Hebrews 9:27-28 tells us, “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him.”

Everyone will face the Day of Judgement.

As believers, we need to help prepare as many people as possible for that day by sharing the Gospel with them.

How will we share the saving message of the Gospel today?
