C3PO picked up a bad habit from Han.
The term “Worshipfulness” was something Han called Leia.
While it might sound respectful, since she was a princess, it was nothing less than a sarcastic jab at her.
In Return Of The Jedi, when C3PO replied to Jabba the Hutt with “Oh, uh, yes, uh, I am here, Your Worshipfulness. Uh, yes!” C3PO was not being respectful but was being snarky or sarcastic.
What words or phrases have we picked up from those we are most around?
Before we use particular language (words or phrases), we should THINK.
T= Is it True?
H= Is it Helpful?
I= Is it Inspiring?
N= Is it Necessary?
K= Is it kind?
Paul instructs us in Ephesians 4:29, “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
Are we able to pray as David did in Psalm 19:14? He prayed, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”
James, a servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, tells us in James 3:3-12 about the power of the tongue (our spoken word).
In verse 10, he laments, “From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.”
We should pray each day that the words we speak are acceptable to God.
