I see through the cracks in your mask. You’re haunted.

In The Rise Of Skywalker, Rey feels a tugging on her through the Force.

She walks towards the edge of the Aki-Aki Festival of the Ancestors. Suddenly, Rey is talking with Kylo Ren, who mentions Palpatine wanting her.

After a brief exchange, Rey says to him, “I see through the cracks in your mask. You’re haunted. You can’t stop seeing what you did to your father.”

During this exchange with Rey, it seems to be a ploy to distract him from finding Rey. We eventually see Kylo Ren come to grips with what he did to Han.

There is One that that will remind us of our past mistakes, the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit does this as Jesus promised in John 16:8. “And when He comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.”

The Holy Spirit wants us to repent and be forgiven. In 1 John 1:9, we read, “If we confess our sins, He [God] is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Yet, there is another one that is will bring up our past mistakes, the devil.

As believers in Jesus Christ, ALL of our sins have been forgiven. When Jesus died, we were not born. When Jesus died, He died for all the sins of the world. We had not committed a sin yet, but ours were already forgiven. To have to believe in God like Abraham did so that our sins could be forgiven and to be counted among the righteous (Romans 4:1:3).

The devil brings us our past in order to hamper our relationship with God. He does not want us to feel connected to God.

If we are reminded of a past sin, confess it to God. We will then free to forget that sin, just as God does.

Psalms 103:12 reads, “as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us.” Let our sins go today through repentance.
