In ESB, Han and crew are on a large asteroid making repairs to the Falcon. After investigating the cave they are in, he races inside and yells for Chewie to fire up the engines and get out of there.
Princess Leia warns that the Empire is still out there, in the asteroid field, looking for them.
Han shouts at her, “[There’s] No time to discuss this in committee!” Han says this as the ship lurches about.
Princess Leia chases Han towards the cockpit and yells back, “I am not a committee.”
Han’s quick decision might have saved them at that moment, but it eventually leads to him being encased in carbonite.
Our quick decisions might appear to be good, but it is better to seek godly counsel instead of making a hasty decision.
We can have instant guidance if we memorize Scripture like the psalmist in Psalm 119:11 did. He wrote, “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
2 Timothy 3:16 tells why it is important to memorize Scripture when Paul wrote that “all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”
Our long-term happiness, joy, and prosperity will come to be based on our relationship with God.
One of the best ways to know who God is is to read about Him in Scripture.
Will we start reading and memorizing Scripture today?
