Having returned triumphantly to Anakin’s home, Anakin is ecstatic with how much money he has earned from selling his racing pod. He is even more excited to find out that he has been freed from slavery.
When Shmi asks Qui-Gon if he is to take Anakin and train him as a Jedi. Qui-Gon replies “Yes. Our meeting was not a coincidence. Nothing happens by accident.”
Initially, Qui-Gon did not think he was there on Tatooine to save slaves. As events unfold, he starts to see that he was on that planet for a reason. His padawan, Obi-Wan will eventually say “In my experience, there’s no such thing as luck.”
The same can be said about us.
We are in the place we are, for the harvest that God has prepared for us. He has good works planned for us to do.
According to Ephesians 2:10, “we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
We all are provided with divine appointments. God is in control, but He is no puppet master. He will not force us to obey His will. He does not need us to carry out His will, but He does want us to be involved.
God wants us to grow in faith and become more like His Son.
When Abraham was about to sacrifice his son Isaac, that is when God provided the ram for the sacrifice (Genesis 22).
It has been said that God’s middle name is “coincidence.”
That He allowed things to happen and we would be surprised at how He showed up.
What are coincidences that have happened in our lives?
How did God use them?
