The Force is with me, and I am with the Force.

After the stormtroopers take Cassian and Jyn into custody, Chirrut calls out to the lead trooper, "Let them pass in peace! Let them pass in peace."

As he stands and slowly walks towards the square, he continues, "The Force is with me, and I am with the Force. And I fear nothing, for all is as the Force wills it."

The stormtroopers arm their blasters, and in a whirlwind of action, Chirrut subdues all of them.

Despite the destruction of the temple of Jedha, Chirrut still has joy in the Force, continues to pray (chant to the Force), and accepts all that is happening as the will of the Force.

Chirrut demonstrates what Paul wants believers to do when he wrote 1 Thessalonians 5:14-18. "And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

As believers, we should not fear anything but "rejoice always" (verse 16) since our joy does NOT come from our circumstances but comes from our relationship with God.

As we pray without ceasing (verse 17), we are in constant communication with God. We do not need to live with our eyes closed and heads bowed but live in such a way as to constantly talk with God. And just as important, listening to God.

Finally, in verse 18, we are to "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

As Paul said in Philippians 4:11-13, we can do with much or little.

And as James reminds us in 1:2-4, our trials are part of improving our lives and character. Therefore give thanks.
