After having Force-connected conversion with Kylo Ren about what happened between Kylo and Luke, Rey goes to confront Luke.
When Rey tries to confront Luke, Luke instructs her to leave the island and tries to walk away.
He is in no mood to talk with her about Kylo’s depiction that Luke tried to murder him and attempts to walk away but Rey hits him from behind.
After a slight skirmish, in which Rey beats Luke, she shares how she believes that if Kylo returned from the Dark Side, it could be how the Resistance could win.
But Luke tells her “This is not going to go the way you think!”
Our View Of The Future Is Severely Limited
Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Often we have a plan in mind about how things will go.
We build-up, rather quickly, a scenario where everything works (for good or bad). But we do not know the future.
God may or may not allow things to turn out as we think.
Things did not turn out for Rey like she had seen them in her mind.
A Better View On The Future
James 4:13-14 reminds us “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’ — yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”
We need to live out our lives as James 4:15 tells us “Instead [we] ought to say ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’”
By committing ourselves to what God wants in our lives, we can live out His higher ways.
How do we do this?
We need to live out Romans 12:2 and “be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
