When A Vision Changes Your Life And The World

Luke has escaped the Wampa and is now stranded out in a snowstorm when he hears Obi-Wan’s voice calling his name.

Obi-Wan’s spirit appears in front of Luke telling him, “You will go to the Dagobah system.” Delirious, Luke mumbles back “Dagobah system?” To which Obi-Wan replies “There you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me.”

In Acts 9:1-9, we read about Saul’s vision on the Damascus road.

While Luke had just escaped death and was delirious, Saul was in good health and on his way to bring about the death of those that followed The Way, as Christians were being called then.

Both men received an unlikely visit that would change their lives, and the lives of millions forever.

Luke met the spirit of a Jedi master and would recover from his injuries in order to learn how to become a Jedi. As a Jedi, Luke would help save the galaxy.

Saul, on the other hand, would go from perfect health to becoming a blind man, needing to be guided by the hand until he was healed by the LORD through Ananias.

Acts 9:17-20 tells us “Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, ‘Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.’ And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized; and taking food, he was strengthened. For some days he was with the disciples at Damascus. And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, ‘He is the Son of God.’”
While we might not have visions like this in our lives today, but we are still called by God to do something in this world, see Ephesians 2:10.

Join with Me to Spread the Gospel

This post is a modified version of a devotional from my upcoming devotional book.

As millions of kids, teens, and young adults face a world that is rapidly removing any trace of Judeo-Christian values from the culture, there is still hope to reach them.

The Gospel is for all people and throughout all time.

You can help the next generation learn about the Gospel by using Star Wars.

There are valuable lessons that can be learned from Star Wars. My devotional book looks at the live-action Star Wars movies (Episodes I to IX, Rogue One, and Solo) and pull out different lessons and take-a-ways.

If you wish to join me in using Star Wars to share the faith, please consider purchasing the daily devotion I am published in November 2019.
