Where Do You Draw Strength From?

We all have good days and bad days. When you have a bad day or a series of bad days, where do you turn to in order to draw strength to make it through?

For Jedi, they draw their strength from the Force. As Obi-Wan told us,”the Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.”

But what about you? Where or from Whom should a Christian draw strength?

The pat answer is from God. We have been taught by the Church that God is our strength since our earliest years.

But what does that mean? How does God provide strength to us in our time of need?

We first need to know who God is.

We cannot and should not confuse the created with the Creator. While the Force is “an energy field created by all living things”, God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, has existed since before space, time, energy, and matter.

According to Genesis 1:1 we see God is there before the beginning of the world.

In Colossians 1:17 were are told that Jesus, the Son, is “is before all things.”

And finally, we are told in Hebrews 9:14 that the Holy Spirit is eternal.

Whys does it matter that God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, is eternal?

What comfort can you then take from John 3:16 and 2 Peter 3:8-9?

If God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, is NOT eternal, then Scripture lies to us and we are of all people most to be pitied.

But take heart, God is eternal, Scripture is true, and we can draw strength from the One who created the universe.
