Probably one of the best fight scenes in Star Wars that does not include a Jedi or Sith has to be between the blind guardian of the Whills, Chirrut Îmwe, and a squad of Stormtroopers.
The Stormtroopers have captured Cassian and Jyn. Chirrut tells the Stormtroopers to let them pass in peace.
Chirrut then enters the street and says in a chanting-like fashion, “And I fear nothing. For all is as the Force wills it.”
Once he hears them raise their guns, he attacks the Stormtroopers and swiftly deals with them.
Chirrut has given his life to the service of the Whills and the Force. By surrendering to this service, he acts against injustice.
Throughout the rest of Rogue One, we see Chirrut’s commitment to doing what is right and ensuring those around him do so.
Micah 6:8 tells us, “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
James 1:27 tells us, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
When we put our faith and trust in Jesus and confess our sins, He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
We are then to walk in the ways of the Lord.
Ephesians 2:10 lets us know that “we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
As we go about doing the good works prepared for us, we can take comfort in the knowledge that all is as God wills it.
