I am concerned for my padawan.

In AOTC, Anakin received his first assignment to escort Senator Amidala to her home on Naboo.

A short time later, Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, and Yoda walk through the Jedi temple. As they do, Obi-Wan shares, "I am concerned for my padawan. He is not ready to be given this assignment on his own yet."

Anakin had been a padawan for nearly ten years, and his first assignment was of galactic importance. Obi-Wan, who had been with Anakin all that time, did not think he was ready for it.

1 Corinthians 3:1-3a, Paul laments, "But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh."

We, as believers, need to grow. We cannot stand by for years without moving from "spiritual milk" to "semi-solid spiritual food" and then on to "solid spiritual food."

How can we move our faith along?

In Philippians 2:12b-13, Paul tells us to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure."

So there is a part that we play and a part that God does.

We know that God is faithful and will do His part since Paul told us in Philippians 1:6, "And I am sure of this, that He [God] who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."

Are we faithful to do our part?

What will we do today to grow in our faith?
