Why We Need A “Reprogram”

For those of us that have a snarky sense of humor and a quick wit, K2SO was a welcomed addition to the cast of Rogue One.

You always knew what he thought since he was not one to sugar coat what he said.

When Cassian Andor asks Jyn is she has met K-2, Jyn’s response dripped with sarcasm as she replied, “Charming.”

It what seems to be in defense of his friend, Cassian replies that “He [K-2] tends to say whatever comes into his circuits. It’s a byproduct of the reprogram” as if to say that what K-2 was doing was somehow wrong.

A Renewed Mind

When K-2 was created and programmed, he had the operating system that the Imperials installed.

Most of K-2’s pre-Rebellion actions and decisions were rather benign, even though he was unknowingly helping to further the interests of the Imperials. When he was put into a situation when he would have to pick a side, his actions and decisions were made to help the Imperials.

We, like K-2, have a program that we are following, consciously or not. We follow what the world would have us do.

We are in need of a program update. We are told in Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”

We need to change how we think and act. We need to become more like Christ.

But it is more than just our thoughts and actions.

A New Creation

We need to become a new creation. We can if we are in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us “therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

When Christ died, He died to sin once for all; but because of the Resurrection, the life He lives, He lives to God.

Galatians 3:13 tells us that “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.” By putting our faith in trust in Him, we can have eternal life.

How To Get a Godly Upgrade

Admit you have Sinned
We need to realize both intellectually and within our spirit that “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” and are not worthy on our own to enter heaven. The fact that we are sinners is the bad news.

Believe On Jesus Christ
The good news is that John 3:16 promises “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Confess Christ Publicly
As Romans 10:9 tells us “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Not sure how to prayer? Try this

Heavenly Father,

I know that I’ve sinned against You. I realize that the penalty for sin is death. Thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die, shedding His own blood on the cross in my place so that I could receive His righteousness by faith. I now confess my sins to You and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died and rose again so that I can be forgiven and live forever with Him. Here and now, I surrender my life, my plans, my goals to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. By God’s strength, I will seek to share about what God has done in my life with each opportunity God brings my way.

In Jesus Name I pray, Amen. (source)
