Originally released as Star Wars in the United States theaters on May 25, 1977. It was released on April 10, 1981 when it first featured the “Episode IV – A New Hope” subtitled. It was rerelease on January 31, 1997 which substantial edits as the “Special Edition” version. It added scenes and changed dialogue.
