As Obi-Wan and Anakin chase the would-be assassin, Obi-Wan asks what took Anakin so long to get a speeder. Anakin sarcastically lists several reasons.
Obi-Wan answers, "If you spent as much time practicing saber techniques as you do your wit, you would rival Master Yoda as a swordsman."
While detailing the "full armor of God," Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:17b that we need "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
For believers, we need to practice using our swords as well. That means we need to be in the Word of God.
By spending time in God's Word, we can be like the psalmist who wrote in Psalm 119:11, "I have stored up Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You."
In Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13, we read about how Jesus was tested/tempted by Satan in the desert.
All the testings that Satan tried revolved around a twisting of Scripture since Jesus knew the context and meaning of the passages being twisted. He knew Satan was wrong. Jesus then used other passages from Scripture to refute Satan's misquotes.
We see others misquote the Scriptures, such as saying, "Money is the root of all evil." This is a misquote from 1 Timothy 6:10, which states, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs."
There were plenty of godly people that were rich in the Bible. Abraham, David, Solomon, and in the New Testament, we see the Centurion (as an authority in the Roman army, he was paid well). Lydia was a maker of purple garments (which were costly)
When we know Scripture, we can refute errors and myths.
