Cassian and Bodhi have just left in a huff and have left the rest of the group inside the U-Wing that brought them to Eadu.
Jyn asks Chirrut, “Why do you ask that? What do you mean, does he [Cassian]look like a killer?”
Chirrut replied, “The Force moves darkly near a creature that’s about to kill.”
For a blind man, Chirrut was able to see the turmoil that Cassian was dealing with. Even though Cassian had murdered in the past and had been ordered to kill Galen Erso, there was a tension he felt this time.
In Genesis 4:2, we read about the birth of Cain and Abel. Abel was a “keeper of sheep,” and Cain was a “worker of the ground.”
Cain and Abel brought sacrifices to the LORD. Genesis 4:5-7 then records, “Cain and his offering [the LORD] had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. The LORD said to Cain, ‘Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.”
The LORD knew Cain’s heart and how Cain was getting ready to murder his brother. The LORD warned Cain about sin’s desire and how Cain must rule over it (verse 7), but Cain was powerless to rule over it.
The same goes for us in our lives. Sin’s desire is contrary to us, and we must rule over it but are incapable.
Thankfully as Romans 5:6,8 tells us, “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly… but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
We have received reconciliation through faith in Jesus. Lean on that every moment of the day.
