After returning home with the money Anakin received from selling his pod, Qui-Gon announces that Anakin has been freed.
Shmi asks, "Will you take him with you? Is he to become a Jedi?"
Qui-Gon replies, "Yes. Our meeting was not a coincidence. Nothing happens by accident."
As chaotic as the world may seem, there is no such thing as a coincidence.
God is in control. God directs things; sometimes, He "makes" things happen by intervening supernaturally. Other times He allows things to follow the natural law that He established when He created the universe.
His will can never be thwarted. There is a cause for everything, whether we understand it or not.
God is omniscient, meaning that He knows EVERYTHING.
Psalm 147:5 reads, "Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure."
David acknowledged in Psalm 138:4, "Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether."
Hebrews 4:13 teaches that "no creature is hidden from His sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."
So whether God acts to cause a situation to arise or allows the natural course of events to happen, nothing in all of creation happens without God knowing about it and letting it happen.
Remember that there are no coincidences, and we should do our best to live out 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
